Get ready for something very special this week! Rather than featuring one of our local bands we are fortunate to have dovetailed our Thursday night stage with a great touring band when The Flora Ware Trio plays two sets, beginning at 7:30p.m.
Expect to hear a combination of hip jazz and original soul/pop. Backed by a smooth guitar and a solid rhythm section, Flora will captivate you with her lead vocals and soft keyboard style. Her voice has been described as silky, seductive, powerful, yet intimate. Nominated for Best Jazz Artist of the Year in 2008 by the BC Interior Music Awards, her album ‘Insight’ continues to receive airplay on CBC and community/college radio stations in Western Canada. “Insight” features her original songs alongside modern renditions of favourite jazz standards. Playing as a trio, Flora will be on keys and vox, with Sam Shoichet on bass, and Jeffrey Drummond on guitar.
